    • Jacques de Larosière

      Jacques de Larosière

      Chairman of the Advisors

      Mr de Larosière's career as an international civil servant and banker spans nearly 40 years. He has been Advisor to BNP Paribas' Chairman since 1998. Prior to that, he was President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development from 1993 to 1998. From 1987 to 1993 he was Governor of the Banque de France and he was subsequently made Honorary Governor.  From 1990 to 1993 he was Chairman of the Committee of Governors, Group of Ten. From 1978 to 1987 he was Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund.

      During the 1960s and 1970s Mr de Larosière worked as an international civil servant, notably for Valery Giscard d'Estaing (then Minister of Economics and Finance), and became Under Secretary for Monetary Affairs at the French Treasury (Directeur du Tresor).

    • Barry Clare

      Barry Clare

      Barry Clare has extensive experience in the healthcare industry. Most recently, he set up an over-the-counter business, Healthcare Brands International (HBI), which acquires and commercialises underexploited healthcare products and was sold successfully to Meda. Before
      HBI, Barry established Clarat Partners, which helps companies develop their businesses internationally and it advises technology developers on the commercialisation of their innovations. Clarat also carved out Betapharm from Hexal,  which he later exited for US$460 million. Between 1991-2001, Barry created Boots' international "over the counter" consumer healthcare business, which was sold to Reckitt Benckiser for £1.93 billion. Barry was also a
      non-executive director of Standard Chartered Bank.

      Steve Johnson

      Steve Johnson has extensive experience in both retail and private equity.  He is currently Chairman of Dreams, the UK's largest bed retailer and also a Board Director of Lenta, a leading Russian hypermarket operator. From 2008 to 2009 he served as CEO of Woolworths Group Plc and prior to that from 2002 to 2007 as CEO of Focus DIY Limited. Previously he worked at Asda Plc, where he held a number of executive positions, including Marketing Director and Corporate Development Director.

      Ersin Özince

      Senior Advisor

      Ersin Özince has served as the Chairman of İș Bank since 2011, having been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Bank in 1998. He started his professional career in 1976 at İș Bank. He also chairs  Șișecam, the largest glass manufacturer of Turkey, is a board member  of TEMA, the largest non-profit organisation for preserving the environment in Turkey and a Member of the Board of Trustees at Bilkent University.

    • Alain Beyens

      Alain Beyens

      Alain Beyens is the Chief Executive Officer at Pelican Rouge Group and the Chairman of Moji Brendovi Group, a Mid Europa Fund IV portfolio company.  Alain joined Pelican Rouge in the autumn of 2012.

      Prior to joining Pelican Rouge, Alain was CEO at StarBev, a leading Central and Eastern European brewing firm owned by CVC Capital Partners.  Following CVC's exit in 2012, Alain left StarBev. Alain has 25 years of experience in the brewing industry and held several senior executive positions with Anheuser-Busch InBev.
