MediGroup

In July 2018, MidEuropa acquired a majority stake in MediGroup, Serbia’s leading private healthcare provider with well-invested facilities across key cities, providing inpatient, outpatient, lab, IVF, ophthalmology, and cosmetology services. Management and incumbent backers were drawn to MidEuropa’s proven track record in growing healthcare businesses, namely with LuxMed in Poland and Regina Maria in Romania. With MidEuropa’s backing, the business has grown organically and via acquisitions, and was integrated into the Regina Maria Group in 2021. 

Partnership highlights:

• Management and MidEuropa are leveraging Regina Maria’s know-how with a view to enhance MediGroup’s offering and replicate the successful model in Serbia
• Opening new greenfield sites in key cities such as Belgrade, Novi Sad
• Optimising layouts of clinics and hospitals to improve efficiency and facilitate better integration of the network
• Look to consolidate the Serbian private healthcare market, with four acquisitions already completed propelling MediGroup to become the largest laboratory services provider by number of locations
